Universal Coupling consists of two parts: a light source and a light receiver. Assemble the light source and receiver in the same sealed shell, and isolate them with transparent insulators. The pins of the light source are the input end, and the pins of the light receiver are the output end. Common light sources are light emitting diodes, and the light receiver is a photosensitive diode, a photosensitive transistor, and so on. The role of Universal Coupling is to achieve optical signal splitting/combining, or as a component for extending fiber optic links. It belongs to the field of optical passive components and can be applied in telecommunications networks, cable television networks, user loop systems, and regional networks.
